Our Story
Ma-Mix is a platform that specialises in selling goods and services from different cultures of the world.
We celebrate each other’s culture and make it easy for users to find different products and/or services from across the globe… all of which can be delivered right to their doorstep! The name “ma-mix” is an expression from Shona culture which means, a variety of things.
Ma-Mix was established in 2024 and we set out on a mission to offer a solution to find those products you do not easily find in the mainstream shops with good quality at an affordable price. Do you need something from Italy? How about Japan? Any country of your choice, we are the right platform you need.
Shingi, our co-founder, found it difficult to find products from his home country (Zimbabwe) when he moved to United Kingdom, as they were unavailable in mainstream shops. When he met Robyn, his wife, who is white British, she and her family did not know where to start to find any gift from Zimbabwe to surprise Shingi with. As an intercultural couple, this was a problem.
When organising cultural-themed parties at work or University, there were limited availability on other shops/platforms. For these reasons, we decided to partner with many vendors to make these products/services easily available. It’s how Ma-Mix was born. Helping you solve all these challenges.
